Abstract
509,688. Pencil holders. LUTZ & WEISS GES. Feb. 11, 1939, No. 4559. Convention date, Feb. 23, 1938. [Class 146 (iii)] In a pencil holder having a number of lead holders movable selectively into writing position, the lead holders being mounted in the front one of two telescoping parts of the casing and being moved against spring action by a pusher in the rear part, the lead holders are spaced apart in the casing so that the pusher can be moved into the space between them so that the casing can remain in telescoped condition even when all the holders are retracted. The lead holders e, normally held retracted by springs f, are provided with knobs e<1> projecting through slots in a guide tube c fixed in the front part a of the casing into a space between the tube and casing. A pusher k, secured in the part b of the casing, can be brought into position' to engage any one of the knobs to push the corresponding holder into writing-position when the parts a, bare telescoped. The parts a, b are adapted to be held in telescoped position by claws n<1> engaging a knob h, and the claws can be disengaged by pressure on a cap p to cause a rod o to enter between projections on the claws. When the claws are released, a spring s restores the parts a, b. A receptacle for spare leads may be formed in the space around the rod o.
