[Class 145 (ii)] A portable circular saw for cutting splints, plaster, &c. includes a fixed guide member 16 secured to the saw casing 10 and adapted for insertion between the saw and the limb &c. of the patient, and a movable guide member 27 spring-mounted to adapt itself to the thickness of the splint &c. The saw may be driven by a handle 24 and gearing or by an electric motor Mounted on the casing. The saw works in a recess in the fixed guide and two hardened steel pegs 28 protect the patient from injury if the saw should cut through the plate.
