[Classes 61 (ii) and 145 (ii)] A file comprises a flexible strip or wire A formed with teeth or file cuts B and loops &c. C at the ends to engage a frame in which the wire is placed under tension for use in the manner of a hacksaw, Fig. 5, showing a plate E bent and slotted at E<1> to engage the beaded end of such a wire file and apertured at E<2> to engage a stud F<1> on a screwed post of the tension frame F. The Provisional Specification also states that the wire or strip file may be supported in a power driven frame or on the pulleys of a band sawing machine, and such an abrasive stop may have file teeth formed on one or both faces and in the case of a bandsaw one or both surfaces may be file cut while retaining the ordinary saw teeth.
