[Class 98 (i)] A roll-film camera, having a removable rollholder containing supply and take-up spools and with an exposure-aperture adapted to be closed by a shutter, is provided with an actuating member for the shutter which forms itself, or is coupled with, a means for latching the roll-holder to the camera, so that if the rollholder is detached before the complete roll is exposed, the exposure aperture is closed by the shutter before actual separation. In the example, the cassette is shown as within the camera casing and the exposure aperture 18 is adapted to be covered by a roller blind shutter wound by a spindle 34 from a spring roller 33. The spindle 34 is actuated by a pinion 31 turned by a rack 36 brought into engagement when the lower lid is closed on the camera. The movement of a lever 37 in the direction of the arrow B to lock the lid causes the rack to turn the pinion and to bring an aperture in the blind 32 opposite the section of film to be exposed. A two-bladed shutter for the same purpose is also described.
