Abstract
507,735. Reinforced-concrete lintels. PICCOLIN AKT.-GES., GEB. Nov. 18, 1938, No. 33558. Convention date, Nov. 19, 1937. [Classes 20 (iii) and 20 (iv)] A lintel serving as a box or holder for a roller shutter comprises two reinforced-concrete members 1, 2 of semi-arched cross-section, placed side by side to provide a recess for the reception of the shutter roller. The member 1 on the inside of the building is of lesser depth than.the outer member, and is provided with a wooden strip 5 'to which a cover for the box may be secured. The ends of the members 1, 2 are provided with projecting wires (not shown), which are tied to secure the members together. The reinforcement comprises longitudinal bars 3 held together by ties 4, and metal ties are also provided at the top of each lintel member for suspending the latter in the wall. The inside of the lintel may be lined with insulating material, such as wood fibre, while the outer portion may be made from artificial stone.
