[Class 122 (iii)] A combined power and district heating plant includes back pressure turbo-generators, exhaust heat storage and direct supply to suitably, situated districts and thermal storage of electric energy and heat supply for other districts. Generators 3, 4, 5 supply mains 6. Exhaust steam, from generator 3 heats water for storage at 12 and supply to district A. Generator 5 supplies steam for heating district B, operating generator 17 and also for heating water to supply district C. In district D water is heated by an electric boiler 26 supplied from the mains 6. In district E steam is generated in electric boiler 31 for supply to a turbo-generator 33, the exhaust from which heats water stored at 35 and supplied therefrom to buildings. Accumulators for electric thermal storage may generate high-pressure steam for power generation in peak periods, the turbine exhaust either being supplied direct for heating buildings or for heating water,
