[Class 82 (i)] Burnt pyrites, preferably freed from accompanying metals and water-soluble salts, and if desired dehydrated, is briquetted with a binding agent consisting of sugar or substances containing sugar, particularly beet sugar, cane sugar, dextrose, or molasses, without the addition of other materials, and the briquettes are heated to a temperature sufficient to caramelize the sugar, which may be 200-300‹C.
