Description

Process for the production of calcium phosphide. For production of As is known, calcium phosphide is allowed to leave phosphorus or its vapor at high temperatures act on lime or you reduce calcium phosphate by easily oxidizable metals like magnesium or calcium. In the first case a product is obtained; of its phosphorus content at most half due to the action of water in the form of hydrogen phosphide is recoverable; in the other case, the product will be used by the rental company for many technical purposes too expensive. Similar products are obtained by exposure from phosphorus to heated carbide.

Experiments have shown that one for the production of phosphorus calcium more appropriate from a mixture of calcium carbide with oxides of phosphorus, such as P205 assumes, since with such mixtures only a small part of the mixture is approx 4.oo to 5oo ° needs to be heated to initiate the reaction, which is then below Glowing continues through the whole mass. Example. i ooo parts of crushed carbide of about 80 percent CaC2 content are mixed with 600 parts of phosphorus pentoxide and placed in a refractory crucible. Heat is applied in one place the reaction is initiated, which then propagates with the whole mass glowing.

Mainly according to the equation 3 CaC2 - + z05 - CasPz + 5 CO + C is formed a slightly sintered, porous mass, which is opposed by strong reactivity Water distinguishes itself from other types of phosphorus calcium.
