504,500. Coating-compositions ; lined barrels. STANDARD OIL DEVELOPMENT CO. May 6, 1938, No. 13550. Convention date, July 23, 1937. [Class 95] [Also in Group XVII] The interior surfaces of containers, destined to' receive solid or semi-solid bituminous material, are coated with a composition comprising water, a hygroscopic inorganic salt, and not more than 10 per cent by weight of a starchy substance. Adhesion of the bituminous material to the container is thus prevented. Specified hygroscopic inorganic salts are calcium chloride, zinc chloride and aluminium chloride, and specified starchy substances are the starches from potatoes, wheat, rice, beans, peas and lentils, and dextrin. Glycerin, ethylene glycol or other watersoluble, high boiling organic liquid may be added to the composition. Specification 418,590 is referred to. According to the Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91, more than 10 per. cent by weight of the starchy substance may be present. This' subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
