Abstract

Compositions simulating chemical combat substance comprise mixtures of 30% to 35% by weight dioctylphthalate with 65% to 70% diphenyloctylphthalate or diphenylxylene phosphate which remain liquid over the range - 45 DEG C. to + 70 DEG C. Up to 0.5% of formic acid may also be present to enable the composition to react spontaneously with an appropriate tracer powder. Turpentine, castor oil, 2-ethylhexanol, propanol, butanol, tetrachloroethane and pentachloroethane may be additionally present as extending agents.
