Abstract

503,961. Brushes etc.; hand - tool handles. FRAME, A. B., and FRAME, W. J. Oct. 18, 1937, Nos. 28260/37 and 8197/38. [Classes 19 and 61 (i)] A brush, scrubber or the like, particularly for use in cleaning lavatory pans, comprises a readily flexible element 10 with a socket 15 to receive a hollow handle 19 with air inlets and outlets 21. The scrubber also acts as an automatic disinfecting and deodorizing device by inserting vaporizable substances in the body or handle. The body 10 is constructed of two rubber elements 11, 12 vulcanized together. The lower element has moulded ribs or projections 17 on the outside and cross ribs 24 inside. The handle 19 may be of metal, wood, synthetic resins, fibre or the like and is closed at the top with a threaded cap 22. In use, the flexible body is pressed inwards or drawn outwards according to up and down movement of the handle. This drives air outwards or inwards-the outward air charged with disinfectant &c.
