Abstract

488,326. Toothbrushes. LOWENSTEIN, R. June 12, 1937, No. 16381. [Class 19] A toothbrush comprises a tubular head 10, Fig. 1, of metal or other rigid material having one or more apertures 11 formed therein and a hollow casing 1 fitting over it with registering apertures 7 and bristles 6. The casing 1 is readily detachable from the head 10. The head 10 is attached at 8, 9 to a water supply. In a modification, the casing 1 extends only partly along the head 1 and is retained by a bulge on both casing and head. The end 12 of the head is closed to prevent the casing being forced off. The head and casing may be rectangular in cross-section, and the liquid apertures may be run together to form a single slit. Instead of bristles, rubber or other elastic projections or artificial resin may be used. In another modification, Fig. 8, a disinfectant liquid may be drawn in from a pipe 25 by ejector action.
