Abstract
503,207. Valve circuits. RADIOAKT.-GES. D. S. LOEWE. Oct. 1, 1937, No. 26660. Convention date, Oct. 2, 1936. Addition to 487,243. [Classes 40 (iii) and 40 (v)] Desired current-voltage characteristics are obtained by the combination of a plurality of resistances in such a manner that the characteristic curve of each resistance forms part of the complete characteristic. In the described arrangement, the curve 1-2-3, Fig. 1a, which is used for increasing the light intensity contrast in television systems as described in the parent Specification, is obtained by means of tubes 4, 5, 6, Fig. 2. The input potential is applied at 7 and the total current flowing through resistance 8 produces the output at 11. Valves 4, 5, with suitable anode and bias voltages pass currents i1, i2, represented by portions 1a-2a, 2b-3b, of their anode current-anode voltage. characteristics, which add to produce curve 1a-2a-3a, Fig. 1b. A constant current i3 passed by valve 6 operating as a saturated valve is substracted and the resultant current through resistance 8 is given by curve 1-2-3. In modifications, Figs. 3, 4 (not shown) the constant current i3 is supplied by a D.C. source and variable resistance and the various anode and grid voltages are obtained by tappings on a common current source. The valves 4, 5, are also shown combined in one tube having an anode, a cathode and two grids. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 comprises also the subject-matter of Specification 505,167. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
