Abstract

502,979. Envelopes. PIRIE APPLETON & CO., Ltd., and WOLFF, H. Oct. 5, 1937, No. 26935. [Class 146 (ii)] Unauthorized access to the interior of a closed self-adhesive envelope is prevented by an elongated strip 9 additional to the protective flap 8 and secured at its ends to the side flaps 5. The flap 8 is formed by the upper part of the back 4 and normally overlies the adhesive 7. In a modification the flap 8 and strip 9 are formed in one piece and is either secured to the wall 4 or forms a continuation thereof. In a further modification the strip 9 is a continuation of the wall 4 and the flap 8 is separate from but secured to the wall 4.
