Abstract
502,825. Compressing heels. BRITISH UNITED SHOE MACHINERY CO., Ltd., and EDWARDS, C. H. Sept. 25, 1937, No. 26029. [Class 17 (i)] In a machine of the kind described in Specification 22839/02, [Class 17], wherein the heel is introduced tread foremost between the side engaging dies and ejected, after compression, in the opposite direction, the side-engaging dies are provided with resilient means for engaging the sides of the heel before the dies close. Spring plungers 14 have their outer ends shaped to conform to the dies when the springs are compressed.
