501,618. Chain guards for cycles &c. CRAWSHAW, T. A. Oct. 23, 1937, No. 29008. [Class 136 (i)] A chain guard for cycles &c. is formed from a rubber or like elastic tube a of uniform thickness and provided with a longitudinal opening a<3> whereby it may be readily fitted over a chain b, the dimensions of the tube being such that when it. is applied to the chain it engages with the upper and lower edges of each side b<1> of the chain and also provides a space-due to the widening of the opening a<3>-sufficient to permit meshing of the teeth of the sprocket wheels with the chain without contact with the guard. The guard may be, provided with a canvas &c. reinforcement, and may be formed in a single length, the. ends of which are united by a metal clip &c.
