Abstract
500,977. Two-part coupling* mounting electric lamps in lamp reflectors. ARMSTRONG, J. J. V. (Bosch Akt.-Ges., R.) Aug. 20, 1937, No. 22820. [Class 38 (i)] [Also in Group XI] A lamp of the type having a flange a attached to the ,cap that is secured to a supporting plate g by tapered slots b in the flange engaging over bolts f on the plate, has means, operated separately from the action of engaging the slots and bolts, for clamping the flange to the plate. Such means may be simply the screwing up of the bolts which are then made with collars to fit enlargements at the small end of the slots b and with screw-driver slots at both front and back of the plate g. In a modification, resilient clamping blades i, Fig. 4, are used, pivoted to the plate g so as to be capable of being turned aside to an inoperative position while the lamp is being inserted or removed. Alternatively a resilient stirrup k, Fig. 6, can be removed or inserted to clamp the flange a, or its limbs can be sprung apart into an inoperative position.
