500,666. Glass manufacture. GENERAL ELECTRIC CO., Ltd., and PARTRIDGE, J. H. Dec. 9, 1937, No. 34117. Addition to 416,062. [Class 56] The envelope of an electric discharge lamp that contains mercury, but no substantial amount of alkali metal vapour, is composed of a glass containing 0-10 per cent of boric oxide, 3-12 per cent of alkaline earths of which 1À5-5 per cent is barium oxide, and 15-22 per cent of alkalies of which at least two thirds is potassium oxide. British Specification 474,298 and U.S.A. Specification 1,968,823 are referred to.
