Abstract

499,485. Cartons. FOLEY, C. Sept. 29, 1938, No. 28302. [Class 18] The sides of a carton are provided with extensions which can be folded, concertinafashion, against the sides for display purposes or opened out to constitute handles for carrying the carton. As shown, the carton is made up from a single blank comprising a base 1, ends 2 with extensions 3 which are bent round and stapled together to constitute the sides, and extensions 4 to form the handles, the end sections of these extensions being provided with hand-holes 5. In a modification, the sides are constituted by flaps 4a to which short extensions 3 on the ends are stapled, and the handles 4 are separate members stapled to the upper edges of the sides. The carton may be provided with a transparent or other cover.
