Abstract

498,141. Vacuum cleaners. GENERAL ELECTRIC CO., Ltd., and JACOBY, H. C. E. July 7, 1937, No. 18873. [Class 8 (i)] The front part of a vacuum cleaner, including the nozzle 7, is made of indiarubber or similar insulating material and supports a rotary brush 10. This is driven by the shaft on a motor and fan unit supported by the flange 6 and enclosed in a casing 14 made either of metal or rubber, this casing being connected to the motor by a rubber bushing 16. The height of the nozzle and brush is adjusted by the handle 24. Condensers 19 for suppressing electrical interference are mounted in the casing.
