Abstract
497,527. Beer engines. HEATH, Ltd., W, E., and LAWRENCE, J. E. March 24, 1938, No. 9037. [Class 102 (i)] In a beer pump the outlet 9 is carried by the cover 15, and the rod 4 is attached to a spider 14 in the piston, thus permitting the whole length of the cylinder to be swept by the piston. The cover carries a long stuffing- box acting as a guide, and the rod is attached to the piston by a joint permitting alignment, e.g. as described in Specification 438,821. The cover is secured to the barrel by a screw ring 18, in order that the outlet may be arranged as required. A swan neck 11, carried by a bracket 12 on the counter 13, is connected to the pump outlet by a straight pipe 10. The bucket-valve 5 and the suction-valve 6 are guided by depending legs 16, 17.
