496,629. Nonconducting coverings for heat. DEHN, F. B. (Dry-Zero Corporation) March 29, 1938, No. 9621. [Class 64 (ii)] In a refrigerator wall structure comprising inner and outer walls 13, 11 separated from each other by insulation material 12, particularly non-hygroscopic material, and having a discharge opening 14 for water of condensation, a mass of absorptive material 16 such as the insulation boards known under the Registered Trade Marks of " Celotex " and " Insulite," is positioned directly below the opening to receive the water and dispose of it by dispersion and evaporation to the surrounding air. The absorptive material is supported by channel members 17, and the flow of condensate thereto is facilitated by bevelling the lower insulation mass at 12a and by providing in the bottom of the outer wall 11 radial grooves 15 tapering downwardly toward the aperture. In a modification of the invention, a centrally apertured dished pan is arranged above the lower insulation slab with its outer edge extending beyond the inner wall 13 to catch falling condensate and direct it to its central opening which communicates with the discharge aperture 14 by a central channel in the insulation slab. The latter channel may be lined with a tube.
