Abstract
649,727. Heat insulation. SCHUBERT, E. Dec. 15, 1947, No. 32979. Convention date, Dec. 13,1946. [Class 64(ii)] [Also in Group X] A heat-insulating building element, Fig. 2, comprising inner and outer wooden walls 8, 7, 17 mm. and 22mm. thick respectively, attached to a wooden frame 9 and enclosing an air space in which is an aluminium foil 4 and plates 2 of low heat conductivity, to obviate the formation of dew on the foil, has the parts so arranged that the foil is in the warmer zone of the plate. According to Fig. 1, the inner wall is lined by two wood-fibre plates 2, 10 mm. thick and separated by an air-gap 10 mm. wide, the outer wall being lined by a tar-board 6 and the complete element being 135 mm. thick. With this arrangement for a room temperature of 20‹C. and outside temperature of -15‹C. the foil is so situated that its temperature would be -0.71‹C. When the lining plates 2, Fig. 2, are placed according to the invention adjacent the outer wall, with the same temperature drop the foil temperature is +7.3‹C. U.S.A.
