Abstract

494,950. Spectacles and goggles. JIRANEK, J. May 1, 1937, No: 12478. [Class 97 (i)] For affording rearward or rearward and lateral vision, a reflector is carried on a stem extending forwards and/or laterally from the frame of an optical device for personal wear such as spectacles or goggles. The stem may be detachable from the frame of the device and may be capable of bending for adjustment to the most satisfactory position. In the form shown, the reflector 25 is pivotally mounted on a stem 24 carried by a spring clip 21 engaging the frame 23 of a pair of spectacles. In a modification the reflector is carried by a bar extending across the top of the frame and secured thereto by clips. In a further modification the stem is secured by clips to the side piece of a pair of spectacles. The reflector may be plane or convex.
