Abstract

390,458. Spectacles. CARSON, O. B., 112, Wallbrooke Road, Scarsdale, New York, U.S.A. Nov. 21, 1932, No. 32869. Convention date, Nov. 30, 1931. [Class 97 (i).] To facilitate adjustment of a spectacle frame, a link which is pliable or adjustable in any direction is interposed between the lens rim and the side or temple piece. In the form shown, the link 3 is connected to the upper part of the rim 1 and to the side 5 by pivots 2, 4, having parallel axes, the link extending outwardly, downwardly, and rearwardly from the pivot 2 towards the pivot 4, and following the contour of the rim so that it is not seen from the front. For limiting its rearward movement the link is formed with a lug which engages the wall of the pivot attachment 2. A spring may be placed within the pivot 2 to urge the link forwardly and thus draw the side on to the wearer's ear. In another form the link is made integral with the rim and is pivoted only to the side.
