Abstract
320,668. Harrison, A. J. July 20, 1928. Spectacles and eyeglasses, more particularly of the type having pads adapted to engage the nose or orbital ridge, the pads being carried by arms associated with the frame or bridge, have the pads 3 detachably connected to their supporting arms 1, the pads 3 sliding upon the arms endwise and being normally retained thereon by means of a releasable fastening, such as a projection 6 and socket 7. The projection may be pressed up out of the metal forming the arm, and a tubular part 4 of the pad in the form of a channel may carry the socket 7. The sides of the channel are in some cases provided with projecting teeth for embedding in the pad 3. In place of the projection and socket the arm 1 may be fitted with a resilient portion or spring which frictionally engages the tubular part 4.
