Abstract

494,470. Adjustable seats. McADAM, J. Dec. 28, 1937, No. 35921. [Class 52 (ii)] Mechanism for effecting sliding movement in vehicle seats comprises upper and lower members 15, 14, fixed to the seat and floor respectively, tracks or parts 17 of arcuate section formed integrally in each member near each end thereof, balls 16 located between the opposite tracks, and spring actuated hooked bolts 21 sliding in the upper members and engaging apertures in plates 22 secured to the lower members, and operated from a common rocking lever 24 carried by a rod 25 having a cranked part 25a operable by the user's foot. The members 14, 15 may be of the interengaging shape shown. The tracks are provided with stops 18 to retain the balls. The bolts 21 may be U-shaped as shown in Fig. 6, provided with springs 21b and actuated by rods 23 from the rocking lever 24, Fig. 2.
