[Class 103 (v)] [Also in Group XXXI] A coupling-device between tractor and trailer vehicles enabling a number of vehicles to be formed into a train and steered comprises a straight bar 30 interconnecting the rear axle of the tractor with the front axle of the trailer and pivoting with respect to both axles about horizontal and vertical pivots, and linkages 16, 15, 27 for controlling the pivotal movements of the wheels 14, 12 on the front and rear axles respectively. In the arrangement shown the bar 30 is pivotally connected by a horizontal bolt 34 to a forked bracket 18, which in turn pivots about a vertical pin 19 mounted in a socket 20 secured to the front axle 10 and comprising inner and outer sleeves 22, 23 with interposed resilient material 21. Links 16 are connected to the bracket 18 to effect a steering of the front wheels 14, while a rod 27 pivoted to a laterally projecting lug 26 on the bracket 18 is connected to a similar forked bracket 17 on the rear axle 9 and, through links 15, swivels the rear wheels 12 in the opposite direction to the front wheels 14.
