494,343. Making sheet-metal tanks. JIFFY AUTOMATIC CLOTHES WASHER CO., Ltd., and SIMPSON, J. A. April 27, 1937, No. 11972. [Class 69 (i)] [Also in Group XXII] A tank is made from three sheets of metal, one of which is bent to form the sides A<1> and bottom, and the other two sheets forming the ends B are flanged outwardly at b and b<7> to fit within the sides and bottom so formed, these flanges being then bent backwardly at b<10> over the edges of the first sheet and secured at intervals by welding; all three sheets are cut away at the top corners to allow a flange with inwardly and downwardly extending portions b<4> b<3> having meeting edges at the corners to be made by bending the tops of the sheets. Reinforcing corner pieces C may be welded to the flange.
