506,185. Baking pans; joining sheet metal. KATZINGER CO., E. Dec. 4, 1937, No. 33628. Convention date, Feb. 23. [Class 28 (i)] [Also in Group XXII] A sheet-metal stay for spacing a Dair of baking-pans is shown in Fig. 2 as it is before it is deformed into its final shape which is shown in Fig. 3. Each end of the stay is provided with parallel flanges 16, 17, and a tongue 15 which is struck up to lie in the channel formed by the flanges 16, 17. The middle portion 19 is arched, so that, when the stay is deformed, the flange 16 passes around between the bead wire 12 and the pan flange 13 which becomes bent outwardly away from the pan to be gripped between the flange 17 and the bottom of the channel. The tongue 15 becomes flattened down on the bottom of the channel and the flange 13 is bent down on each edge of the tongue whereby movement of the stay along the bead is prevented.
