[Class 80 (i)] [Also in Group XIV] In a mechanically-driven hand implement, e.g. a hair-cutting machine, in which a worm gear is employed between the drive and the implement, the worm wheel is mounted on a base-plate adjustably secured to the gear casing to take up wear and reduce noise. In a handle 1 is accommodated an electric motor fed through cables 2. The end of the motor shaft is constructed as a worm 5 engaging a wheel 7 mounted on a pin 9 carried by a base-plate 8. This plate is secured to the gear casing by screws 6 which pass through open-ended slots in the plate to permit of adjustment transversely to the worm. The worm wheel carries a pin 10 engaging a slot in, and oscillating a lever 13 pivoted at 12.
