Abstract
493,181. Scaffolding. SCHIEFFER, P., and BRUGGEN, P. Dec. 20, 1937, No. 35196. [Class 20 (ii)] Scaffolding of the type comprising telescopic uprights, a bracket arm pivoted to the upper upright, and a strut for supporting the outer end of the bracket arm, has the uprights formed of channel section bars, and the lower upright supported removably in an independent foot. The telescopic uprights 1, 6 are formed of channel section bars, the upper 6 having pivoted thereto a bracket arm 8 also of channel section, the outer end of the arm being supported by an inclined strut 9 the lower end of which is adjustably fixed to the lower upright by a pin 3 engaging apertures in the upright. The lower end of the lower upright is secured to a base comprising bent sheet metal triangular shaped plates 10, by a bolt 14, and the plates are stiffened at their lower edges by angle plates. Two scaffolds may be opposed and the inner ends of the bracket arms are then connected by a box-shaped connector 14, and pins 15, 16, Fig. 7, and diagonal connectors 11 are used to position the uprights.
