Abstract

An adhesive comprises an alcoholic or like solution of zein and a reactive aldehyde, such as formaldehyde. The working time of the adhesive may be extended by the addition of a lower aliphatic acid. The adhesives may be used in veneering or making plywood, or in making laminated glass, with or without intermediate layers of nitrocellulose, cellulose acetate or the like. Specification 492,599, [Group IV], is referred to.
