Abstract

492,304. Closuring bottles &c. YOUNG, S. D. March 18, 1937, No. 8016. [Class 125 (iii)] Bottles &c. having a bead or locking ring 5 at some distance below the mouth, are closed by a cap 4 the side walls of which are furnished with incisions 9 arranged so that when the parts 8 so cut out are torn away there are left a plurality of ears or lugs. The cap is secured by the turned-in portion 7 at the lower edge of the skirt engaging with the bead of the bottle ; and it is necessary that the upper part of the bottle neck should be spaced apart from the walls of the cap. With this construction the cap after the cut-away portions have been severed previous to the original remaval of the cap, may be re-secured to the bottle, engagement being effected by the ears or lugs.
