Abstract

491,360. Heating steam boilers by waste gases. MACHINEFABRIEK GEB. STORK & CO. N. V. Dec. 20, 1937, No. 35212. Convention date, Feb. 12. [Class 123 (ii)] A steam generator in the exhaust pipe of an internal-combustion engine consists of straight tubes 2 expanded into tube plates having removable covers 5, 6 which are provided with baffles 9 directing the water to and fro through rows of tubes. The covers are secured to the plates along their edges and between the tubes by bolts 12, 14. The mixture of steam and water from the outlet 22 passes to a separator, from which the separated water is returned to the inlet 21 by a pump.
