Abstract
A copper-aluminium alloy containing 7,5-10,5 per cent of aluminium, particularly 9,95 per cent, is made by heating pure copper, which may be refined or electrolytic copper, to about 1160 DEG C., cooling it to about 950" C., or, according to the Provisional Specification, 850 DEG C., and adding aluminium which has been heated to 150 DEG C. and may be in small pieces. The alloy is particularly applicable for making reflectors for reflecting orange-coloured or similar light rays, and such reflectors may be used in motor car lamps and in photography, kinematography, surgery, signalling, landing grounds, street and other lighting, advertising, and for other purposes.
