Abstract

490,892. Toothbrushes ; handles. HOLZBOCK, E. Dec. 24, 1937, No. 35721. [Classes 19 and 61 (i)] A toothbrush has an S-shaped handle a with the front part curved to correspond with the curve of the teeth and one or more bundles of bristles b rotatably arranged on the front part of the handle at right-angles thereto. The bristles b have inwardly inclined upper edges c and are fixed by a bolt f and plate h in rotatable cups g set on the handle, as shown in Fig. 3, or arranged in depressions on the handle. The latter has a thumb depression d set on an incline causing the user to tilt the brush through about 25 to 30‹. This result may also be obtained by making the handle part helical or twisting the part carrying the bristles with respect to the handle part, Fig. 6, or setting the bristle cups on an inclined ledge.
