Abstract

490,592. Stand heads. KODAK, Ltd. Feb. 24, 1938, No. 5864. Convention date, March 5, 1937. [Class 52 (v)] [Also in Group XX] Tilting mechanism for a kinematograph projector &c. comprises a rack member 17 which is mounted on a screw-threaded spindle 9 in a base member 5 and engages an arcuate toothed segment 23 carried by the projector etc.; the rack is caused to slide by rotation of the spindle and turns the projector &c. about the pivot 21. As shown, the rack 17 comprises a section of a rod which has been bored, tapped, &c., and is flattened so as to engage within a slot 8 formed in the top of a hollow base 5. The spindle 9 carries a hand wheel 14 and is held in place by a shoulder 15 and a collar 12. The segment 23 is secured to an arm 20 by pins 24, and the arm 20 is connected to a post 6 extending from the base by means of the pivot bolt 21 and spring washers 22. In a modification, the base is solid and has a recess to house the rack member.
