Abstract

490,497. Transmission systems. LORENZ AKT.-GES., C. Dec. 22, 1937, No. 35505. Convention date, Dec. 22, 1936. [Class 40 (iv)] A receiver including a loud-speaker 4 fed by modulated carrier from a distant transmitter 7 and controlled for operation by signals over the line, is retroactively connected with the transmitting station so as to indicate there the performance of the loudspeaker. High-pass filters 8, 5, line 11, rectifier 2, and amplifier 3, are provided as shown and low-pass filters 6, 9 enable part of the sound currents to be transmitted back to the indicator 10. To put the receiver into operative condition a low-frequency current is first impressed upon the line to render the high-frequency portion of the receiver effective. Whereupon a carrier modulated by a further control frequency is transmitted to render the low-frequency stage effective.
