[Class 98 (i)] The objective of a camera is connected through a cam to a slidable lens of a coupled range-finder, said lens being one of three negative lenses and adapted to cause the images formed by the other two lenses to be brought into coincidence. The range-Under comprises two spaced lenses 10, 13, an eye lens 12, and a laterally adjustable lens 11. A reflector 14, a semi-reflecting element 15 and compensating lens 16 bring the image forming beams into the eye piece. A bracket 25 is secured to the front wall 24 of the camera and carries a dovetail guide 27. In this guide 27 moves a slide 28 supporting the lens 11, the slide also carrying a roller for co-operation with the cam 30 on the focusing objective. A sleeve 37 supporting the eye lens is slidable in another sleeve 38 on the camera, and is retained and actuated by catches and springs respectively. The objective mount (Fig. 5) comprises an outer sleeve 46 secured to the front wall 48 of the camera by a locking ring 49. A flange 50 on the sleeve 46 conformed with a slot 61 through which passes a pin 60 connecting the cam 30 to an intermediate sleeve 56, screwthreaded on the outer sleeve 46. A pin 58 on the sleeve 56 co-operates with a cam slot 59 on the objective carrying sleeve 54, the latter being prevented from rotating on its guide sleeve by a key 541. When the sleeve 56 is rotated the objective moves and the cam 30 is simultaneously rotated. The slot 61 extends for about half the circumference of the flange 50. Interchangeable objectives can be used, each objective carrying its own cam 30 and focusing mechanism as a unit. Specifications 419,502 and 440,353 are referred to.
