Abstract
490,016. Gas lamps for floodlighting. KEMPTON, C. H. A., and ST. CLAIR, J. P. C. O. Feb. 5, 1937, No. 3494. [Classes 75 (i) and 75 (iv)] A gas lamp for floodlighting comprises a casing 5 having an opening at the back and fitted with a condensing lens 11 at the front, the burner 16, fitted with a gas supply pipe 22 and a rod 23 for adjusting the air supply sleeve, being mounted on a back plate 12 adapted to be removably secured by wing nuts 15 over the opening in the back plate, and means being provided for adjusting the position of the burner along the focal axis of the lens. The latter means comprise a screwed rod 17 extending through a boss 18 which is secured to the back plate 12 and receives an extension of an operating nut 19, axial displacement of the latter with respect to the boss 18 being prevented by a grub screw 20. A lock-nut 21 is provided to lock the burner in the adjusted position.
