Abstract

486,030. Vehicle headlamps. BOSCH AKT.-GES., R. Nov. 28, 1936, No. 32663. Convention date, Nov. 28, 1935. [Classes 75 (ii) and 75 (iii)] In a headlamp comprising a reflector 8 tiltable in a ring 7 within a casing 3 secured to a mudguard 2, the reflector is adjusted by means of a pair of independent controls 12, 16, the control sleeve 12 being manually operated to compensate for deflection of the headlamp caused by variable loading of the vehicle and the coaxial control screw 16 being operated by a screwdriver or like tool. The sleeve 12 is provided with a pin 15, engaging an oblique slot 14 in a fixed bush 11, and a milled operating head 13, the ends of the slot being adapted to retain the pin in the end positions of the sleeve. The screw 16 engages a nut 19 on an angle-piece 18 adjustably connected to an arm 17 7 on the reflector, a spring 21 being provided between the nut 19 and a stop 20 on the screw. The ring 7 and the glass 6 are secured by spring-clips 9 to a cover ring 4 detachably connected by screws 5 or a bayonet, or hinge, joint to the casing 3.
