Abstract

489,602. Making valves. ASBORNO, N., and ASBORNO, G. B. Jan. 25, 1938, Nos. 2360 and 2361. Convention dates, Jan. 26, 1937 and Nov. 29, 1937. [Class 83 (ii)] Valve bodies of various forms as exemplified in Figs. 9, 15, 22 are made from tubular elements by welding sections together. The main part of the body shown in Fig. 9 may be made from a piece of tubing heated to red heat and reduced at its ends B, Fig. 3, in a press. A hole is cut at C for the insertion of the baffle D, which carries the valve seat S. A closure E of funnel shape is welded into position and flanges G are similarly fixed. A body part similar to that shown in Fig. 3 may be made in the case of large valves by fixing two funnel-shaped parts together.
