522,126. Making valves. B.R.A.S.A. BREVETTI ROBINETTERIE AUTOSALDATE SOC. ANON. Dec. 6, 1938, No. 35502. Convention date, Feb. 25. [Class 83 (ii)] In a process for the construction of a welded body or cage for a valve, sluice valve or the like, two complementary stamped plate elements are welded in the plane of symmetry, the body thus formed is cut into two portions 10, 12, Fig. 3, to allow the insertion of the seat carrying diaphragm 4, the parts 4, 10 and 12 are then welded together as shown in Fig. 4, flanges 9, 17 and 18 also being welded on to the body. A sluice valve body, Fig. 13. is formed by cutting the symmetrically welded member transversely so as to remove the top portion 24, valve slides 26 are inserted within the lower portion 23 which is apertured for the reception of tubular elements 27, and the body is completed by welding the elements together as shown.
