Abstract

488,523. Toothbrushes ; hand - tool handles. DADIAN, M. Nov. 15, 1937, Nos. 31381 and 31382. Convention dates, Nov. 21, 1936 and Feb. 4, 1937. [Classes 19 and 61 (i)] In a toothbrush with a rotary head, a disc 4, Fig. 2, bearing the bristles is provided at its periphery with ribs or projections to facilitate rotation against the gums. The disc 4 is mounted on a pivot 3. Sets of balls 8, 9 are held between washers 11, 12 slidable along the pivot 3. Spacing is adjusted by a nut 13. The brush element, Fig. 3, may have bristles cut to form saw teeth 14. In a modification, Fig. 5, a circular groove 16 is made in the bristles near the outer edge 15. In another modification, the groove is omitted. In Fig. 7, another mounting for the brush disc is shown. A cap 19 is rotatably held on a pivot 17 by a cotter 21.
