Abstract

488,478. Switchboards. SEAWRIGHT, G.B. Jan. 14, 1938. No. 1349. [Class 38 (v)] The insulating part of a control panel comprising switches, fuses, lampholder and sockets, of the type used for the control of a domestic supply is formed of a single moulded piece of insulating material so shaped that it forms the insulating portions of the component elements, the operative parts of which are connected by metal strips located in grooves formed in the underside of the base. The Figure shows a porcelain base wherein the box-shaped member 5 receives the working parts of a 15 amp. switch controlling the supply to a socket 7 suitable for the reception of a three pin plug protected by a fuse 13. A 30-amp. switch, protected by a fuse 19 can be secured between the raised portions 16 and 17 of the base 1, while a bayonet lampholder 21 receives a pilot lamp. The whole is provided with a metal cover, while the slots in the back of the base carrying the connecting strips are filled with wax.
