Abstract

487,420. Spring upholstery. HUMBER, Ltd., and JUDSON, G. H. Jan. 9, 1937, No. 686. [Class 52 (iv)] A seat back particularly for motor vehicles comprises a back portion 11, a flexible, padded, front portion 19, and, between the two, spaced, substantially upright bowed springs 14 anchored at one end 13 to the back portion 11 and free to slide thereon at the other, and disposed so that the bowed portions will act on the front portion only in proximity to the " small " of the user's back. A rigid or slightly flexible panel 17 may be secured to the bowed springs which latter may be laminated and may engage the back 11 through rollers.
