Abstract
486,812. Sound-film speed-controlling devices. KLANGFILM GES. April 9, 1937, No. 10229. Convention date, May 20, 1936. [Class 40 (ii)] . To ensure steady motion of a sound film or of a combinec sound - and - picture film through the sound gate of a sound - reproducing recording or dupli eating apparatus, the film is guided over a roller which has a circular compensating motion under the in fluence of a spring A picture-and-sounc film 1 is driven by a sprocket 2 througl the picture-gate 3 and is guided by a film-tensioning roller 15 around the sound drum 5, returning thence by way of a roller 10 to the sprocket 2. The roller 10 is carried by a lever 9 which may rotate about an axis coaxial with the drum 5, the lever 9 being constrained by an adjustable spring 11 and dashpot 14. The drum 5 may be mounted on a spindle 6 which carries also a flywheel 7, the spindle 6 being mounted in bearings in a housing 8. The lever 9 may be mounted on a roller bearing 12 on the housing 8.
