Abstract

486,649. Gauges. WOLTER, R. Nov. 19, 1937, No. 31900. [Class 106 (ii)] The adjustment of the slide 2, Fig. 1, of a calliper gauge is effected by a thumbpiece 3 mounted in a, slot in the slide, the pressure applied to the thumbpiece being transmitted to the slide by springs 14, 15, Fig. 2. An index 4 indicates the pressure on the thumbpiece to eliminate errors due to possible variations in the pressure with which the slide is urged against the object to be measured.
