Abstract

486,456. Press - button retractive switches. CRABTREE & CO., Ltd., J. A., McLOUGHLIN, H. F.. and HARRISON, B. G. Jan. 4, 1937, No. 159. [Class 38 (v)] A switch for opening a circuit in an emergency, has moving contacts a<2> which may be operated to break circuit by a push-piece a<3> and has provision, accessible from outside its case b, for locking the switch in its '' off " position. The push-piece a<3> passes through a cover b<1> of the case b and has mounted on it by a pin a4, movable contacts a<2> normally engaging fixed contacts a<1>. To operate the switch, a cap c is manually depressed. about a pivot c<1>and against a spring c<2>, and, engaging the pushpiece a<3>, depresses it against a spring a<5> to open the contacts. If desired it may be locked in the open position by a padlock passed through a hole d<3> in a stud d a head d<1> of which is a stop for cap c in the normally closed position.
